Nature & Technology, An Inevitable Interconnectedness
December 2022

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
Nature & technology are polar opposites, both crucial to the fabric of this generation. They are the two areas in which we are compelled to spend our time or where we strive to spend our time. The sensibility of nature is merging with the increasing tech of our time in a synchronicity that we do not expect. Technology is becoming an extension of the human body and environmental landscape, a condition destined to intensify over time. "Nature and Tech, An Inevitable Interconnectedness" explores the interdependence of natural and man-made, real and surreal, rural and urban tangible and spiritual verities. It is the underlying and eternal interconnectedness of all things that is of the highest spiritual value. The binary preconception of technology as evil and nature as good is superannuated. Acknowledging our two current parallel realities brought together in compatibility, creates a sense of balance. This exhibition is a lyrical perspective for a harmonious relationship between technology and nature, a fantasy of symbiotic unity.
NOTE FROM THE CURATOR
I was very moved by the artists' experiences in what it means to be a human navigating the transitional landscape of technology and nature. Your stories, personality and intention came through in your artwork. This selection is a combination of artists with career trajectories in dialogue with true raw talent that is just now being born. There is so much honesty in the topic of nature and technology, they can be polar opposites but they are both crucial to the fabric of this generation.
The final selection reflects what was most truthful to me subjectively in tandem with what is most true to the times we are living. It covers the sensibility of nature merging with the increasing tech of our time in a hyper rapid synchronicity. Technology is becoming an extension of the human body and our environmental landscape, a condition destined to intensify over time. This show addresses our intimate and collective responses.
I am grateful to Visionary Art Collective for the opportunity to discover new artists to love, and even though it's an impossible task to accept all artists for this show, I will call many of you for other projects.
