Alejandro Pasquale: The Study of Sacred Plants

Through the study of sacred plants, Alejandro Pasquale invites viewers to contemplate our personal relationships with the natural world.

Tell me about your background and where your creative journey began.

My background as well as my beginning in art is based on my love for nature, on the need to reconnect with it from our most original and respectful side. My work is just a tool that I found which serves me as a fundamental language of expression to share my thoughts and feelings. With this I am not trying to convince anyone of my thoughts as true, but I am really convinced that we must and we have to reconnect with our natural being, with love and empathy for all beings that co-inhabit this planet, including us.

Where do you find inspiration for your work?

Absolutely in nature, and in some ways of connection with that humans have found.

How have your paintings shifted and evolved over time?

Beyond technique and image, I feel that more and more I am committed and I try to make my actions consistent with my feelings and thoughts, the same in my work.

What does a typical day in the studio look like for you, and how has your art practice grown or changed?
I come to my studio early in the morning, and I paint until mid-afternoon, every day.

Which experiences have impacted your work as an artist?

No doubt that it was the exploration of non-ordinary consciousness.

Meditation with sacred plants... that has expanded my being and my mind, generating an immense thematic field in which I can develop my work.

How has Instagram impacted your art career?

Social networks are a great tool if they are used well, it is a good way to reach any part of the world, without borders of language limits.

What are your future goals and aspirations?

to keep exploring, keep growing spiritually and also in my work.
