Create! Magazine and Visionary Art Collective invite artists worldwide to submit their work for Of Land & Longing: Celebrating Landscape in Contemporary Art, a global virtual exhibition highlighting the beauty and diversity of contemporary landscapes. This special opportunity aims to elevate artists’ careers by offering visibility, community connection, and professional recognition.

This virtual exhibition will include an artist catalog documenting the show and will be widely promoted through Create! Magazine and Visionary Art Collective’s platforms, providing exceptional visibility for participating artists.

Theme: Of Land & Longing – The Language of Contemporary Landscape

This open-themed exhibition explores the connection between artists and the natural world. We welcome diverse interpretations of landscape and nature, including traditional, abstract, and conceptual works. Submissions are encouraged to reflect on the relationship between humans and the environment, sparking conversations about belonging, space, and the natural world.

Meet the Curators

Ekaterina Popova
Ekaterina Popova is an international artist, certified master coach, and the founder of Create! Magazine. With a passion for elevating artists' careers, she has created a contemporary art platform that has supported emerging artists since 2013. Ekaterina is also the host of the Art & Cocktails podcast, a practicing artist, and co-author of two best-selling books. Her work has been featured in international exhibitions and publications.

Victoria J. Fry
Victoria J. Fry is a New York City-based painter, educator, curator, and founder of Visionary Art Collective, New Visionary Magazine, and Warnes Contemporary Gallery. Fry has supported hundreds of artists globally, providing resources and opportunities to help them further their art careers.

As part of her mission to increase visibility for emerging artists, Fry partners with renowned curators and gallerists to facilitate both in-person and virtual exhibitions, and to publish quarterly issues of New Visionary Magazine, a contemporary art publication showcasing artists globally.

Fry has been a guest speaker for the Women’s Caucus for Art in Washington, D.C., Superfine Art Fair in NYC, Photo Trouvée Magazine, The Art Queens Society, and the Huron River Art Collective. She has curated exhibitions for organizations such as Create! Magazine, Arts to Hearts Project, and The Artful Collective, and has served as a juror for the Women’s United Art Prize. She also hosts the New Visionary Podcast.

Fry holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts (2012) and an MAT from the Maine College of Art (2014).

Eligibility

This open call is open to artists from any country working in all mediums, including painting, sculpture, digital art, printmaking, photography, mixed media, and installation.

Submissions under the theme Of Land & Longing are encouraged to reflect on artists’ relationships with nature, space, and the environment.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submit up to 10 works for consideration

  • High-quality images (300 dpi, JPEG format) are required

  • Include an artist bio and statement (max 300 words each)

  • Artworks can be previously exhibited or published

Key Dates

  • Submission Deadline: March 1, 2025

  • Notification Date: April 30, 2025

  • Virtual Exhibition Launch: May 2025 (Date TBA)

Final selected works will be featured on our virtual exhibition platform, with each participating artist highlighted in a dedicated social media post and included in a printed contemporary art catalog.
